Institutions + Groups
Bringing the principles and practices of the examen to your organization.
The examen brings value to individuals and groups.
It is a practice of introspection + growth that cultivates connection, compassion, and trust, helping align actions to a bigger vision.
I create workshops + bespoke tools that introduce your organization to the examen, letting you work + create from a place of integrity and unique purpose.
How the examen supports you as your work supports the world.
✔ The examen is a simple, daily reflective practice that helps you connect to your conscience and true identity, as an individual or a group.
✔ It lets you set goals and intentions based on your deepest values and helps you discover when and where you are acting in or out of alignment with those values.
✔ It is a practice that will help you say what you do and do what you say, embracing your unique offerings while being accountable to your own vision.
The examen builds rapport.
Rapport builds trust.
And trust nourishes the world within us + around us.
I can create tools for you.
CobbleWorks examen tools have been used by universities, spiritual and social activist organizations, therapists, chaplains, and coaches. The examen is a practical tool for aligning our actions with our deepest values.
It is a broad, practical, compassionate, and inclusive practice not limited to religious belief or faith.
It is designed to connect us to our humanity and to the world around us so that we can embrace our gifts, be accountable for our actions, and share our uniqueness with the world in a spirit of service and collaboration.
One of my gifts is the ability to make this practice more accessible and relatable.
I’m looking forward to learning how I can share the examen with your institution.
What People
Are Saying:
“Jen’s creativity blends with the depth of her spiritual practice in the examen cards she has crafted, and now customized for our university students. Jen has an amazing ability to invite people into reflection with such gentleness, authentic vulnerability, + loving kindness. I’m delighted that those of us in Campus Ministry at SCU have had the opportunity to collaborate with Jen and share the tools for discernment she has created with our campus community.”
— Julia-Claire Landry Santos, Associate Director, Campus Ministry, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA, USA
“Your presence, [Jen], felt very natural. We were very much at home with you. Your explanation of the examen was one of the most helpful and concise I’ve ever experienced, and your guidance through the practice felt seamlessly connected to your explanation. We could not have asked for more.”
— Matthew Laidlaw, Director + Lead Teacher of Open Circle, an inclusive Christian Spiritual Community in Grand Rapids, MI, USA
My Work Supports Your Work
1. Examen Tools for Your Audience
You already help people live with purpose, wellness, and happiness. I can complement your offerings by sharing the examen. Custom examen cards, worksheets, and mailers are some of the tools I design for organizations when they want to introduce the examen to those they serve with intention everyday.
2. Workshops + Presentations
I love bringing the principles and practice of the examen into an organization and sharing how it can support the group and the individual. The examen’s focus on reflection, mindful listening, accountability, and action grounded in concepts of compassion and reverence for the “ordinary” brings value to everyone longing to connect to their own heart, their values and the wider world.
3. Fair-use + Licensing Agreements
Some of my illustrations, zines, and stories are available for licensing and larger campaigns. I look forward to hearing from you about your collaborative ideas and projects.
Imagine following a path you can trust.
Now imagine this path is already within—revealed by listening to the challenges + fruitfulness of everyday life.
We know our next steps by paying equal, compassionate attention to our “wins” and “losses” trusting there is unique wisdom in both.

Some Wonderful Collaborations
1. Santa Clara University
Working with the Campus Ministry Office, I customized sets of Examen Cards for students and hosted an online presentation which included: an introduction to the examen through storytelling and illustration, a guided examen practice, and a Q+A session for students and staff as part of a wellness program.
2. The Light House
I developed an hour-long presentation and workshop on Playfulness + Spirituality for the online contemplative community, The Light House. The three part presentation included: custom illustrated slides, worksheets, teaching, storytelling, and personal reflection.
3. Open Circle
It was a pleasure to join Open Circle, an inclusive Christian community, online to introduce the examen through a series of hand-illustrated slides and then guide people in the practice. After the presentation, everyone attending received examen worksheets they could print out at home to facilitate their own practice going forward.
What People Are Saying
“Jen’s work does the magic dance of being simultaneously universal and personal; inclusive to all and right at the heart of our specific stories. The mundane is magnified and the sacred made accessible. All the perfect resources for some much needed soul-love and soul-wandering.”
— Carly Corinne Lynch, Campus Minister for Religious Diversity, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA
“I am on a leadership team for a progressive church community in Kansas City, and I began to talk about the Examen and the person who I follow on Instagram, Jennifer, who had been teaching about it, and how helpful it was. I reached out to Jennifer to ask if she would be interested in making and drawing the Examen for our specific gathering. Jennifer went above and beyond. She asked a lot of questions, and dialogued with me the whole way through. In the end, we had a beautiful Examen practice all drawn out, with spaces for our group to journal as they went through the process. It was so perfect and it was more than I ever could have imagined. Thank you, Jennifer, for helping our community draw closer to Love.”
— Emily Bartlett, Leadership Team Member, The Open Table, Kansas City, MO
“I’m still overwhelmed with gratitude Jennifer—what generous gifts you’ve given us. Thank you for sharing these amazing resources. I initially started taking a few screenshots [of the workshop] to remember, then found myself noticing a desire to simply witness you in your beautiful element and lightly receive the content. I’m overjoyed seeing the attachments—literally with tears in my eyes. This content is such a crucial part of spirituality. Thank you!”
